Platelet-rich plasma therapy, or PRP therapy, is a skin rejuvenation technique that employs the use of the client’s own blood, which contains platelets that help to stimulate new tissue growth. PRP helps to accelerate the replacement of epidermal tissue. This tissue is formed in the lower dermal layers, but as it is created, the tissue eventually moves up to replace dead or damaged skin cells in the outermost layers.
How PRP Works
A small amount of blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge so that concentrated amounts of platelets are combined with a small amount of plasma.
Benefits of PRP Therapy
When compared to other types of cosmetic skin treatment procedures, there are some main advantages of PRP therapy.
1) Naturally-Induced Rejuvenation
2) It is a simple outpatient procedure
3) Increased Collagen Production
4) Long-Lasting Results
5) No Risk of Contamination
