Frequently asked questions

Who is a good candidate for IV therapy?

Some vitamins and medications cannot be given if you have certain medical conditions. Dr. Edwards will have a consult visit with you to review your medical history before a customized treatment plan is created for you.

Does it hurt to have an IV placed?

No. Dr. Edwards uses the smallest needles possible and also has a topical numbing spray if needed to prevent any discomfort

Who will administer the IV?

Dr. Edwards orders premixed IV bags from the pharmacy and adds in other medications/vitamins as needed. She will place every IV herself and monitor you directly during infusion.

What are the risks of the procedure?

Discomfort, bruising, pain at the injection site, inflammation of the vein used for injection, phlebitis, metabolic disturbances, injury and extremely rarely, severe allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, infection, cardiac arrest, and death.

Does Dr. Edwards make housecalls?

Absolutely. There is a surcharge of $100.00 that will be added to your total charge of the treatment.
